The New England Youth Leadership Conference (YLC) is a nationally recognized and accredited program for high school students to improve their leadership skills and learn about the U.S. government.

Activities may include training on: the rock climbing wall, the Leadership Reaction Course, Our Constitution & The Bill of Rights, Free Enterprise, and Personal Finance. Students will work on leadership case studies, participate in a Supreme Court mock trial, and give a formal team presentation.

YLCYLC is approved by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, sponsored by The Military Order of the World Wars, and is hosted by Norwich University. All high school-age students are welcome to apply. It is recommended that applicants possess a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Check-in for the event is between  3:00 - 4:30 p.m on Friday, January 28, 2022. Families may join us on Sunday for a complimentary brunch, a college and ROTC briefing, team presentations, and awards. All participants, who have not prearranged transportation to the airport, need to be picked up no later than 12:30 p.m on Sunday.

Students are also required to submit an essay of 500 words or less titled: “The Bill of Rights and My Responsibilities,” describing what this means to them as United States citizens. Applications can be accepted at any time with or without the essay, but the essay must be received two weeks prior to the program start date.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
