    Interested in getting involved in digital forensics? Want to learn how to defend against cyber attacks? At Norwich University’s virtual week-long GenCyber Forensics pre-college program, you will dive deep into the cyber-realm with tools used by police forces around the world through a series of gaming, modeling, and simulation activities. 

    GenCyberForensics@NU features:
    • Learn about the different jobs you can do within forensics.
    • Enjoy exercises in several tools used for analyzing computers and mobile devices.
    • Follow the breadcrumbs: Including Norwich’s digital detective whodunit! 
    • Experts will present “hot topics” in forensics and facilitate a Q&A.
    • Surprise cyber forensic challenges with prizes awarded to the winners.
    • All participants will be provided with the hardware and software to create their own mobile forensics and security assessment tools which you'll keep at the end of the program!
    Who can apply? Students who will be juniors or seniors in the fall of 2022. Must reside in U.S. and attend a school or be homeschooled in United States. No prior experience necessary but those with prior basic Cyber background (e.g. attended prior Cyber camp, CyberPatriot, School Club, Online Course etc.) will be looked upon favorably.

    Why here? Norwich University is a Center of Digital Forensics Excellence designated by the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center and a National Center of Academic Excellence by the NSA. 

    Free for all participants! GenCyberForensics is funded by a grant from the National Security Agency, the National Science Foundation and Norwich University's Office of Academic Research.

    GenCyberForensics is limited to 24 participants. 

    Computing requirements: 
    • Internet speed: 25mbit/s download, 5mbit/s upload
    • Microsoft Windows computer with administrative rights (Ask your parents' permission for the week!)
    • Webcam for engaging with your peers and instructors
    • A spare USB port in the Microsoft Windows computer
    • Keyboard
    • Mouse
